7×7 Bathroom Layouts
A 7×7 bathroom is 49 sq ft (84″ × 84″). 2 of 4 standard layouts pass code clearances at this size. With a tub on the side wall, a 24″ vanity fits comfortably. A separate tub and shower or a private toilet room needs a bigger room — Plans C and D show why.

Questions about 7×7 bathrooms
Can a 7×7 bathroom have a separate tub and shower?
Not with standard clearances. A tub plus a separate shower needs roughly 10′ of wall; at 7×7 a tub-shower combo (Plan A) or a 36″ × 60″ walk-in shower (Plan B) works better.
Does a double vanity fit in a 7×7 bathroom?
Not quite: the widest vanity that keeps the toilet legal next to a tub is 24″. Double vanities usually start at 60″.
Is there room for a private toilet room in a 7×7 bathroom?
Not with a tub and a usable vanity as well. A separate toilet room needs about 10′ × 8′.
Which door works best in a 7×7 bathroom?
An in-swing door works in Plan A, Plan B at this size. A pocket door frees the swing area and needs about 30″ of plain wall beside the opening.
